Renewable raw material: Virgin fibre corrugated board comes from managed forests or agricultural byproducts (bagasse). The crop of wood used to make a tonne of cardboard can be replanted in a fraction of the time it takes for fossil-fuel-derived plastics to break down.
Carbon sequestration: Trees grown for pulp and paper absorb CO₂ while growing. When paper is recycled rather than landfilled, that carbon is locked into the material rather than released.
Compostability: Unprinted or water-based-ink corrugated board can be composted directly, breaking down naturally within weeks.
